Bio
Dr. Ivan Hernandez is an industrial-organizational psychologist whose research program is focused on developing new methodologies to facilitate studying organizations and advocating for marginalized populations. His work has been published in leading methodological, applied, and social psychology research journals including Psychological Methods, Organizational Research Methods, Personnel Psychology, and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
A highlight of his research program is the sustained provision of computer code and free open-source tools to facilitate research by other researchers. He currently holds the position of Data Science Faculty Fellow and Diversity Faculty Fellow at Virginia Tech. Further evidence of Dr. Hernandez’s cutting-edge data science skills is seen in leading the winning team at the 2023 Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Machine Learning competition.
