Learn how two administrators used principles from classroom assessment and large-scale assessment to coach teachers into designing an aligned classroom assessment that meets the mathematics rigor required in today's College and Career Ready (CCR) standards and to impact their practice for student learning. In this interactive workshop participants will use an evidence-centered design and the essential characteristics of high-quality items to actively learn how to analyze and write an aligned assessment that supports the three principles of the CCR mathematics standards.

Heritage and Neal (2019) posited that classroom assessment and large-scale assessment can learn much from each other. In this session, learn how two administrators used principles from both areas to coach teachers into designing an aligned classroom assessment that meets the language arts rigor required in today's College and Career Ready (CCR) standards and ultimately impacts their practice for student learning. In this interactive workshop participants will use an evidence-centered design and the essential characteristics of high-quality items to actively learn how to analyze and write an aligned assessment that supports the three principles of the CCR language arts standards.
